Maleny Christmas Carnival – What a Party!

Maleny Christmas Carnival – What a Party!  If you didn’t make the Maleny Christmas Carnival in the main street of Maleny last night – you missed one heck of a community party.  Coming down the hill and seeing a business absolutely covered in Christmas lights – to the man in the dark shouting safety messages to everyone coming past – to all of the community groups and businesses that opened for the evening – re-arranging menus, building street stalls for food, gifts etc, handing out free Christmas cake, organising an army of helpers to offer the locals all manner of ‘stuff’.   How impressive was that twirling ride in the middle of our sloping street!  The music, the lights, the arts &  crafts – oh I know I have missed so many in this missive.  From my own point of view, I was so impressed by the friendliness of all of the people when I accosted them to help the Maleny Visitor Information Centre by adding a review into Google – to enhance our Google standing – I thank you all.  However my most thanks have to go to Spencer & Karen Shaw and their team(s) of helpers who organised everything – to go from our usual main street, covered in vehicles as normal – to such a party land was extraordinary and all put up – run – and pulled down all in 4 to 5 hours.  You guys deserve a medal.  I love this community – but last night made me just so proud to be part of it.
