The Judo Club meets and trains in the Waroo Building of the Maleny Activity Centre, 50 Bunya Street each Wednesday afternoon from 4 pm to 6pm. Judo is a contact sport that requires and develops strength, speed, agility, balance and technique. It also requires a great deal of thinking and tactics to be successful. Registration costs: Juniors $55; Seniors $95.

About us

The Maleny Botanic Gardens currently cover eight acres and are always expanding. Situated on one hundred and ten acres, they are surrounded by magnificent rainforest with spectacular views of the Glass House Mountains.

Over 6 kilometres of walking paths meander around the thousands of different plants, ranging from roses, azaleas and annuals to some of the rarest cycads in the world. All of which are complemented by numerous lakes & waterfalls  – providing countless options for photography.

The pathways also take you on an enchanting journey up to the majestic lookout and into the pristine rainforest.

An Aviary covering over 1000 sq m opened on November 16th 2013 and walk through tours are available – please enquire at entry. A wide variety of birds from Macaws to finches enjoy the waterfall, nests and your shoulders to rest on when you visit.

Our Location

Designed to provide easy access via a concrete driveway and with ample parking onsite, Maleny Botanic Gardens are open to the public seven days per week and are ideal for groups such as tour buses, weddings, artists, etc.

The gardens are woven throughout with roads and easy walking paths with plenty of shaded areas with seating and picnic tables.

All tour group bookings require a 25% non-refundable deposit at time of booking. Bookings can be postponed if necessary due to poor weather.

Maleny Badminton

Badminton is held on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Main Hall of the Maleny Activity Centre, 50 Bunya Street. The Club has a number of racquets for use on the night, so members of the public can just come along and play. The standard of play spans beginner to advanced, so there is every chance you will have the opportunity to play with someone of the same ability. Current players will also assist in new-comers learning the rules and techniques of the game.

Costs: Students $3.50, Adults $4, Family $10.

LITTLE ATHLETICS : The Club has training afternoons on the oval each Tuesday 3.30 pm to 5:30 pm and meets each Saturday morning from 8 am to 10:30 am from September to March, at the Maleny Activity Centre, 50 Bunya Street. The club encourages all its members to develop personal fitness and skill techniques in a fun, family oriented environment. Beginners are always welcome !

Sylph Circus – Junior Aerials

Sylph Circus was established in 2011 and has rapidly become a uniquely popular performance school that caters to all ages from 6 years to adult. Sylph Circus focuses on circus aerial training using apparatus such as silks, static trapeze and aerial ring. To complement the aerial training, skills on the ground include acrobalance, tumbling, contortion and creative movement. Physical theatre training and act creation tie these skills together, culminating in a performance event each year.

Maleny Girl Guides
Every Monday, 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Open to girls 8-12 and 12-18 becoming Rangers. The group provides values-based training in life skills, decision-making and leadership. Through Guides, girls and women have fantastic opportunities to develop new skills, try cool activities, gain confidence, to think and act for themselves, make new friends, acquire a greater respect for the environment and experience a sense of community whilst having fun. The groups are keen for more members.
