Maleny Dairies – its all about taste.
Maleny Dairies is a family owned business situated in the picturesque hills of Maleny. We are proud of our heritage and want to share our story with you. Dairy farms have struggled greatly since the deregulation of the milk industry in 2002. To combat this, our family decided to build a milk processing plant of our own, right here on the family farm.
This cuts the food miles and keeps our carbon footprint low. Other local dairy farmers benefit from having our processing plant close by. We pay them a fair price for their milk keeping agriculture sustainable for future generations. So when you purchase Maleny Dairies products you are helping to support local farming families. You are buying products that are as close to nature as you can get, real milk made the old-fashioned way. No permeate, no additives just pure milk!
Bring the Family for a picnic and enjoy the view…

What’s involved in a tour?
A tour guide will take you up to the baby animal pen to pat the baby calves.
We will give you a brief history of the farm and the reason why we started Maleny Dairies. You will then be shown how hand milking is done using our cow ‘Sweetpea’ or ‘FairyBell’ or ‘Millie’.
A walk down into the pit of the dairy to see where the cows get milked. (At the 2.30 pm session you can see the cows being milked). Then we go to the factory so see where the milk is processed and bottled.
See the coldroom and drystore. Watch a 10 minute DVD showing the process of milk from the cow to the bottle and everything in between.
At the conclusion of the tour you will get to try some of our dairy deliciousness.
(If time permits for school children grades 3 and up, we will have a question and answer session and play a game.)
